The Hopkins County Central Lady Storm put up a fight, but ultimately lost a hard-fought match to the Paducah Tilghman Lady Blue Tornado Monday night in Mortons Gap. The two teams alternated sets all the way through the 5th, with Tilghman taking the win three sets to two.
Paducah Tilghman came out rolling and took the opening set 25-12. The Lady Storm returned the favor, winning the second set 25-17 to even things up at a set apiece.
Central pushed the Lady Blue Tornado all the way to the end in the third set before falling 26-24. Again, the Lady Storm came back in the fourth and won big, 25-12, to even the match at two sets each.
However, momentum from the big win in the fourth did not carry over for Hopkins Central as Tilghman won the decisive 5th set 15-5.
Aalycia Stringer led the Lady Storm attack at the net with 8 kills. Mallory Wagoner and Izzy Gunn finished with 7 kills each. Gunn added six service aces
Tori Crick had a big night setting things up for the team, finishing with 20 assists.
The Lady Storm is right back in action Tuesday night as they host the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons in a 7th District contest.
