
Christian County came in 18th place at Tuesday’s Region 2 golf tournament hosted by the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club. The Colonels finished two shots behind 17th-place Union County and 20 shots ahead of Whitesville Trinity.
Drew Finchem closed out his solid career as a Colonel golfer with a 48th-place finish with a round of 89. Finchem is the lone senior on the Colonel’s squad.
Cansler Wells shot a 27 over par 98 to finish tied for 73rd place, while Chris Adcock shot a 101 to finish tied for 79th place.
Clayton Dixon tied for 89th place with the 107, along with Reed Ezell.
Owensboro Catholic won the region championship with a team score of 311, which was five shots better than second-place Henderson County. Both teams will advance to next week’s KHSAA state first round at the Calvert City Country Club.
Muhlenberg County’s Cy Tudor and Owensboro Catholic’s Vince Hayden tied for top honors with a 3-over-par 74, with Tudor taking the individual title on the second playoff hole.
