
The Hopkins County Central Lady Storm ended a seven-match losing streak by picking up a win over their crosstown rivals Tuesday night. The Lady Storm won the last three sets to take a three sets to one win over Madisonville-North Hopkins in Mortons Gap.
The Lady Maroons came out and won the opening set 25-18 to go up one set to none and appeared to be on their way to fourth straight win over the Lady Storm.
But Hopkins County Central came right back and won the second set 25-19 to get things all even at one set apiece.
The Lady Storm battled through a tough third set, ultimately taking a 25-22 win to go up two sets to one. Hopkins County Central then closed out the match with a 25-16 win in the third set for their third victory of the season.
The Lady Maroons were led by Cadence Curry, who finished with 3 kills/24 assists/6 digs/2 aces. Kendall Prow added 8 kills/2 assists/8 digs/3 aces. Makenzie Brown chipped in with 9 kills/4 digs. And, Kyra Stromberg finished her night with 6 kills/1 assist/7 digs/1 ace.
Hopkins County Central is back on the court Thursday night when the Lady Storm host Henderson County.
For the Lady Maroons, it’s a road trip Thursday night to take on University Heights Academy.
