The Lyon County Lyons soccer team took on the Muhlenberg County Mustangs on Tuesday evening looking for their second straight win. But it was the Mustangs who were able to get the 4-2 win and extend their win streak to four games.
Boston Mullen scored for the Lyons a little less than 10 minutes into the first half off of a header, and that led the team to take a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
But Muhlenberg was able to come out of the gates in the second half swinging, as they score four goals to take the lead in a big way. Lyon County’s Joao Menezes scored a goal of his own, but it was not enough to best the Mustangs.
As for the defensive side, Lyon’s goalkeeper Justin Hicks had 13 saves over the course of the game.
The Lyons will be looking to bounce back in their next game on Thursday, September 25, against Webster County on the road. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
