
Union County finished in 17th place at the Region 2 golf tournament hosted by the Hopkinsville Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.
Ryder Hagan shot the low score for the Braves with a 91, which was good for a 56th-place tie.
Bill Jones tied for 75th place with a 99, while Rylan Hagan tied for 79th place with a 101.
Brayden Garrett tied for 81st place with a 102, and Hudson Cobb tied for 96th place.
As a team, Union County finished one shot behind 16th-place Webster County and two shots ahead of 18th-place Christian County.
Owensboro Catholic won the region championship with a team score of 311, which was five shots better than second-place Henderson County. Both teams will advance to next week’s KHSAA state first round at the Calvert City Country Club.
Muhlenberg County’s Cy Tudor and Owensboro Catholic’s Vince Hayden tied for top honors with a 3-over-par 74, with Tudor taking the individual title on the second playoff hole.
