Lady Maroons Take Down Lady Blazers in Four Sets (w/PHOTOS)

Coming off a tough loss to crosstown rival Hopkins County Central on Tuesday night, the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons were looking to get back on track Thursday night as they traveled to University Heights Academy to take on the Lady Blazers. Both teams had their chances in this one, but in the end, it was the Lady Maroons who got enough done to take the four-set win.

The opening set saw Madisonville push through to take a 25-23 win to go up one set to none.

UHA opened fast in the second set and took a 25-19 win to even the match at one set each.

The Lady Blazers had things going their way early in the third, only to see the Lady Maroons finish strong to win the set 25-23 and go up two sets to one.

The fourth set was like the first and third, a battle to the wire. Madisonville-North Hopkins got on a little bit of a roll late in the set and took a 25-22 win to close out the match three sets to one.

The Lady Maroons had strong performances from Leah Moody, Sadie Kirk, Breanna Petit, and Kately Jones.

For UHA, Megan Long ended up with 11 kills. Grethen Durham added 29 assists. Cassidy Kelled finished with 12 digs and Ava Crawford had 10.

Madisonville-North Hopkins (11-13) heads off to the Southern Kentucky Slam this weekend at Allen County-Scottsville.

University Heights (9-14) goes across town Saturday afternoon to take on Heritage Christian Academy,
