Webster County Rides Huge First Half Past Lyon

The Lyon County Lyons soccer team was looking to break their losing streak on Thursday evening against the Webster County Trojans. Unfortunately they were not able to do that, as they went down by way of the mercy rule midway through the second half.

The driving force in the Webster County win was their high first half, as they scored seven goals in just the first 40 minutes. Lyon County was able to keep the Trojans at bay for 20 minutes or so in the second half, but Webster was able to score their eighth goal and end the game 8-0.

As for the Lyons, they were not able to capitalize on any opportunities. but Justin Hicks had a solid night in the net with 12 saves.

The team will be looking to bounce back in their next game on Tuesday, September 30, against the Christian County Colonels on the road. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Stadium of Champions soccer fields.
