Trigg County scored a straight set win over Murray in Monday volleyball action and reached a four-year high in wins in the process.

The Lady Wildcats won 25-19, 26-24, and 25-20 at Trigg’s primary gym, snapping a brief three-match losing streak and a 10-match losing streak to the Lady Tigers dating back to 2018.

Cali Jones continued her strong play at the net with seven kills, while Trinity Perkins and Greyson Berthume added five kills.

Sierra Williams contributed 10 assists and three kills, and Chloe Adams had five assists.

Grace Carver had four aces and three kills for the Lady Wildcats, and Lilah Booth had 12 digs and one of Trigg County’s 14 aces. Mackenzie Gusgeski led with four aces.

Trigg County improved to 4-12 – its most wins since the 2021 season and the same number of victories as the previous three seasons combined.

The Lady Wildcats will play at Madisonville-North Hopkins on Tuesday.

Murray, which beat Trigg County in straight sets earlier this year, fell to 7-10.
