After getting set back on their heels by Trigg County early in the match Tuesday night, the Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons decided to get a little ‘moody’ and take care of business. Leah Moody that is.

Led by their big-hitting senior, who is among the best in the 2nd Region in attacking at the night, the Lady Maroons rebounded from dropping the opening set to win the next three and take a four-set win over the Lady Wildcats in Madisonville.

Trigg County came out and took the opening set 26-24. The win was the first time the Lady Wildcats had taken a set from the Lady Maroons since the 2015 region tournament.

However, the rest of the night would belong to Madisonville.

The Lady Maroons came back strong in the second set, winning 25-14 to even the match at one set each.

It was then time for the Lady Maroons to get Moody in the third. Madisonville senior Leah Moody served most of the set, including several aces as the Lady Maroons cruised to a 25-4 win to go up two sets to none.

Trigg never really threatened the Lady Maroons in the fourth set as Madisonville took a 25-13 win to close out the match three sets to one.

Madisonville-North Hopkins (14-17) will host Hopkins County Central Thursday night.

Trigg County (4-13) will host the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers Thursday night.
