Going into their Tuesday evening matchup, the University Heights Lady Blazers were looking to break their losing streak, while the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons wanted to get their sixth win in a row. It was the latter that was able to complete their goal and win in five sets.

Before this game, UHA had gotten the best of Fort Campbell in nine of their last ten matchups with the Lady Falcons. So Fort was looking to get revenge and start to get a better record against the Lady Blazers.

The two teams went back and forth for the first four sets, as UHA took the first and third, while Fort took the second and fourth sets. But it was the Lady Falcons who were able to get the win in the fifth and final set by just two points.

Every set was close, as only one was decided by a score of more than four. As a result, it all came down to the final set, and it was nerve-wracking for both teams until the very end.

Cassidy Keller led the Lady Blazers with 34 digs, and Gretchen Durham led in set assists with 25. She also added in 18 digs of her own.

As for the Lady Falcons, Makayla Galvez led the team in assists with 30, Samantha Carrico led in digs with 18, and Baylee Backes led in kills with nine.

Fort Campbell will be looking for their seventh win in a row in their next game against Kenwood on Thursday, October 2, at home. That game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

As for the Lady Blazers, they will be hoping to right the ship on Thursday, October 2, against the Heritage Christian Lady Warriors. Their game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at University Heights.
