
Webster County put the first two runners across the finish line at Saturday’s Logan County Cougar Run, which resulted in a top-five team finish.
Mayci Moore won the race with a time of 20:14 over the 3.1-mile course that will also play host to the region meet last this month.
It’s Moore’s third win in four races this year and fifth over the past two seasons.
Eighth grader Paisley Stone came in second place, 40 seconds in back of Moore. Her runner-up finish equaled her second-place run at the Muhlenberg Mustang Stampede last month.
Eighth grader Alli Bell came in 21st place in a time of 23:48, while seventh grader Emmalein Canterberry was 54th in 26:19.
Two other seventh graders ran in the race with Briley Benson 71st in 28:23 and Ellie Littlepage 73rd in 28:26.
Gabby Breedlove was 85th in 30:20, and Lily Dunbar was 88th in 30:55.
Webster County came in fourth place with 119 points. They were three points behind Calloway County and 13 points ahead of fifth-place Trigg County. All three teams will compete in the Class 2A Region 1 Meet, which is scheduled for October 24.
