Lady Warriors Take District Sweep Over Hopkinsville

The Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors rebounded from a tough district loss to Christian County on Monday night with a district win over the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers Tuesday night. The Lady Warriors controlled the match from the beginning and went on to take the three set sweep.

HCA opened fast, taking the first set 25-14 to go up one set to none. That pattern continued in the second as the Lady Warriors powered past the Lady Tigers 25-12 to take a two set to none lead in the match.

The Lady Warriors then completed their business for the evening by taking the third set 25-16.

Hadlee Hayes had a big night for HCA with 12 kills. Bralee Fowler added 9 more. Makenzie McCarty did her usual outstanding job of setting things up, ending the night with 25 assists.

For Hopkinsville, Madysen Taggart had 7 kills and 9 digs. Kyleigh Weber ended up with 10 digs and one service ace. Brooke Stewart chipped in with 11 assists and one service ace.

HCA (13-15) goes across town Thursday night to take on University Heights.

Hopkinsville (4-18) travels to Trigg County Thursday night.
