The University Heights Blazers soccer team went into their Tuesday evening matchup with the Marshall County Marshals looking for their third straight win. They were able to get exactly that, and they did with a score of 2-1, as the game came down to the wire.

The Marshals struck first about five minutes in after a failed bicycle kick rebounded off of the crossbar right to a Marshall County player, who was able to score. Fortunately, UHA’s Jayden Williamson was able to answer back very quickly and make it 1-1, which was the score at halftime.

After nobody scoring for over 30 minutes of game time, Hayden Hunt was able to put in a header that put the Blazers up 2-1. That was enough to get the win, as the team’s defense was able to hold strong and close it out.

As for the defensive side, goalkeeper Hayden Fitzsimmons had seven saves over the course of the game, and a few of them came in clutch time in the second half.

UHA will be looking to extend their win streak to four in their next game on Thursday, October 2, against the Hopkins County Central Storm at home. This will be their last game of the regular season, and will start at 7 p.m.
