
The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers wrapped up their final regular season of soccer Wednesday night by taking their second consecutive shutout win. The Lady Tigers scored early and often on their way to an 8-0 win over the Union County Bravettes at the Stadium.
The Lady Tigers led 7-0 at the break and then scored a goal in the opening minute of the second half to end the match due to the 8-goal mercy rule.
Lauren Jones and Kaydon Coats led the Hopkinsville offensive attack with two goals each. Kaylyn Lynch, Kila Cherry, Yadira Idrogo, and Kaylynn Schwartz added one goal each for the Lady Tigers.
Kaylyn Lynch had three assists to lead Hopkinsville. Grace Cansler also had an assist.
Jaleigha McFarland and Karla Quintanila split time in goal and shared the shutout, which was the Lady Tigers’ fifth of the season.
Hopkinsville wraps up the regular season at 10-8-1. The Lady Tigers will now get ready for their district tournament semifinal match against the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons Monday night at the Stadium of Champions.
