
Caden Howard had a career night on Thursday. The Crittenden County senior caught 8 passes for 209 yards and five touchdowns as Crittenden County manhandled the Todd County Central Rebels 45-8 in a Class 2A district game in Marion.
Howard was almost a one-man show for the Rockets. Crittenden County quarterback Quinn Summers also had a big night, going 12 of 19 through the air for 241 yards and 5 touchdowns, all to Howard.
Summers also rushed two times for 69 yards and a touchdown.
Todd County Central’s touchdown came in the first quarter when Rigney Harrison caught a 24-yard pass from Eli Morgan with 6:06 left. Morgan added the two-point run to tie the game at 8-8.
Summers answered with a 61-yard touchdown run, and Howard added four touchdown receptions to extend Crittenden County’s lead to 45-8 by halftime.
The win improves Crittenden County to 2-1 in district play, with games against Fort Campbell and Caldwell County still to come in district play. The Rockets control their own fate as it pertains to locking up a homefield berth in the opening round of the playoffs.
The game was the fifth time this season that the Rebels have scored 8 points or fewer in a contest. Todd County Central is now 1-6 overall and 0-3 in district play.
Todd County Central is off next week, and then will go to Caldwell County on Thursday, October 16.
