Caldwell County’s Aliya Towns had a Senior Night to remember.
Towns scored four goals in her final regular-season match with the Lady Tigers as Caldwell shut out Lyon County 5-0 Thursday night at Butler Stadium.
The Lady Tigers are now 14-5 and riding a six-game winning streak heading into the 7th District tournament next week.
Towns got help from fellow senior Hannah Teutsch in the 29th minute to put the first goal of the night on the scoreboard.
Towns punched in another goal in the 36th minute following a Nunie Bates corner kick as Caldwell took a 2-0 lead to halftime.
An unassisted tally in the 45th minute gave Towns her third goal.
Bates curved in a corner kick for a goal in the 55th minute to put the Lady Tigers up 4-0.
Towns added another goal in the 72nd minute with Mariah Vickery picking up the assist.
Caldwell’s defense limited Lyon’s scoring opportunities. Shylee Hinchee needed to make just one save to record her sixth shutout of the season.
Meanwhile, Towns pushed her season goal total to 37 and her career mark to 69.
The 37 goals are third on the Lady Tigers’ single-season list, behind only Maura Hughes (39 in 2004) and Savannah Pepper (38 in 2009).
Towns’ career mark is fifth all-time for the Lady Tigers.
Caldwell has taken six straight from Lyon.
The Lady Tigers lead the all-time series 39-11-3.
Caldwell will host the 7th District soccer tournament starting Monday. The Lady Tigers will face Madisonville-North Hopkins in a semifinal matchup.
Lyon (4-12-2) will face Crittenden County in a 5th District semifinal round contest Monday in Marion.
