Colin Turmero and the Caldwell County soccer team had themselves a week.
Turmero scored seven times Thursday night as the Tigers rolled past Lyon County 9-1 on Senior Night at Butler Stadium in Princeton.
It was the second straight seven-goal night for the Caldwell sophomore, who scored 17 goals in three games over four nights.
Meanwhile, the Tigers (6-9) picked up three-straight victories as they try to build momentum for next week’s 7th District tournament.
Against Lyon, Turmero scored the game’s first goal just 45 seconds into the match and had a hat trick by the 8th minute.
Turmero had six goals by halftime as the Tigers took an 8-1 lead to the intermission.
His final goal came in the 43rd minute as Caldwell ended the game early on the eight-goal mercy rule.
After Turmero’s first three goals, Lyon got on the scoreboard when Joao Colares de Menezes found the net in the 9th minute.
But that was the only tally the Tiger defense would allow.
Grayson Harris made three saves in the Caldwell net before giving way to Preston Anderson, who had one save.
Anderson Garcia and Landon Lanham each added one goal for Caldwell.
Kale Turmero had four assists for the Tigers while Colin Turmero and Evan Ramage each had one assist.
Colin Turmero pushed his season goal total to 36. That is tied for second on the Tigers’ single-season list with Zach Adams (2011). Brett Seymore holds the record with 49 in 2013.
Turmero has 47 career goals. That’s fifth on the Tigers’ all-time list.
Caldwell has now taken six straight from Lyon. That has tied the all-time series at 33-33-3.
Caldwell will host the 7th District tournament next week, with the Tigers facing Hopkins County Central Monday night in a semifinal game at Butler Stadium.
Lyon (2-16) will next face Trigg County in the 5th District championship game Tuesday night at Crittenden County.
