Christian County moved into the semifinals of the 8th District Boys Soccer Tournament with a 7-2 win over Heritage Christian Academy Saturday morning.

The Colonels’ 11-4 win over HCA on Sept. 16 was the difference in being the fourth and fifth seed in the tournament outside the Stadium of Champions.

Noah Davis, who scored seven goals in the win over Heritage last month, added six more on Saturday. He got the Colonels off to a quick start by finding the net four minutes in and added a second goal 17 minutes later.

Heritage Christian answered when Kallan Davis scored off an assist from Jerry Spurling in the 31st minute to cut the deficit in half.

The 2-1 score remained into the second half with each team trading goals. The Spurling to Davis connection got Heritage Christian its second goal with 20 minutes left, but the Colonels closed out with four goals to seal the win.

Noah Davis scored six goals for the Colonels and upped his season total to 19. Leonardo Otega contributed his second goal of the season. Edgar Crisostoma had two assists for the Colonels, and Cooper Fort, Dakari Harris, and Yanixan Ceja each contributed one.

Christian County outshot Heritage Christian 20-7, with Cayden Nowak making 13 saves for HCA. Colonel goalie Preston Gentry made six saves.

Christian County (3-12) will play top seed Hopkinsville (9-6-1) Tuesday at 5:30. The Tigers beat the Colonels 8-0 on Sept. 25. The semifinal matchup will be the final soccer match between the schools, which will combine into the new Christian County High School next year.

Heritage Christian Academy (0-13) had to delay the start of this season due to low numbers, but was able to play 12 regular-season games and participate in the postseason once it had 12 players on its roster.

Davis ended the season with 10 of HCA’s 11 goals. For his career, Davis finished with close to 50 goals.
