The Todd County Central Rebels are headed back to the 13th District championship game for the 4th year in a row. It was not an easy task, as the Rebels went to penalty kicks to push past Logan County 2-1 and into Monday night’s district championship match against Franklin-Simpson at Russellville High School.
It was a match where the Rebels controlled the flow of play and won the shots on goal battle, but still came down to a penalty kick shootout.
After a scoreless first half, the Rebels got on the board at the 45:00 when Tyler Baker sent a ball in, and it skidded off a Logan County defender into the net, putting the Rebels up 1-0.

With 5 minutes left and Todd County Central still clinging to the one-goal lead, the Cougars sent in a shot that did the same thing, and the match was all knotted up at 1-1, and that was how regulation play ended.
The penalty kick round reached the 7th kick before the match was decided. Todd Central’s Spencer Pool made his shot while Logan County’s 7th man missed, hitting the crossbar, giving the Rebels the win and sending them into the championship match Monday night and on to the 4th Region tournament.
Todd County Central (12-6) moves on to face Franklin-Simpson Monday night. The Wildcats won both meetings with the Rebels this season by identical 4-2 scores.
