This week’s Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ for the week of September 29 is University Heights Academy’s Gretchen Durham. Gretchen was selected based on her efforts at last Thursday night’s 8th District volleyball match between the Lady Blazers and defending 2nd Region champion Heritage Christian.
Gretchen, who is just a freshman, came up with a huge night to help lead the young Lady Blazers to one of their biggest wins of the season.
She finished the night with 32 assists, 11 digs, and four blocks, as University Heights won a five-set thriller over the Lady Warriors.
The Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ is selected each week from one of the five schools in Christian County (Christian County, Hopkinsville, University Heights, Heritage Christian, and Fort Campbell) based on their performance in a big game or event for their team that week.
