
At halftime of their 8th District semifinal match against University Heights Academy Tuesday night at the Stadium of Champions, the Fort Campbell Falcons had to like where things stood in their bid to upset the Blazers. The Falcons had gotten outstanding goalkeeping in the first 40 minutes and were tied with UHA 0-0 heading into the second half of play.
The Falcons had been outshot 21-2 in the opening half and that offensive pressure from the Blazers, while not breaking through in the first half, would eventually take its toll.

UHA hit the Falcons with a five-goal blitz in the first 20 minutes of the second half to grab control of the match and go on to take a 7-0 win and advance on to Thursday night’s championship match.
Hayden Hunt got the Blazers on the board just two minutes into the second half with the first of his three goals on the night to put UHA up 1-0. Just over four minutes later, Jayden Williamson found the net, sliding across the goalline with the ball to make it 2-0 for the Blazers.
Hayden Hunt scored again at 51:45 as the lead moved to 3-0. Graham Conrad got in on the action at 58:30, making it a 4-0 match.

Hunt scored his third goal of the second half at the 59:30 mark to run the lead out to 5-0. Cadence Gibson then scored off a corner kick as the Blazers ran out to a 6-0 lead.
Jack Conrad closed out the scoring for the night, drilling a penalty kick at 70:30 to make the UHA lead 7-0.
For the night, the Blazers outshot the Falcons 40 to 5.
Fort Campbell’s season ends at 4-10-0.

UHA improves to 15-5-0 and moves into Thursday night’s championship match to take on the Hopkinsville Tigers.
Hopkinsville beat the Blazers 1-0 in a match that was played over September 23 and September 24, That win gave the Tigers the top seed for the district tournament. Prior to that meeting, the Blazers had won seven straight in the series.
