The Lyon County Lady Lyons soccer team faced off against the Crittenden County Lady Rockets in the 5th District Semifinals on Monday evening. Unfortunately they were not able to advance, as they lost 3-2, ending the Lady Lyons season.
Lyon County had come out on top in the previous two meetings between the two teams, so Crittenden County was glad to be able to get revenge in a game that had as high of stakes as this.
The Lady Lyons’ two goals came from Lyla Melton and Eden Jones, but it was not enough to get the best of the Lady Rockets. The game was back-and-forth for the majority of it, and tension was high between the two teams, and frustration even came out at times.
As for the defensive side, Lyons’ goalkeeper Richmond Herring had 22 saves over the course of the game.
This was the final game of the season for the Lady Lyons, and they ended the year with a record of 4-13-2.
