Madisonville-North Hopkins will go for its eighth-straight girls’ 7th District soccer championship after blanking Caldwell County 3-0 in semifinal round action Monday night in Princeton.

McKinley Jo Wilson scored a pair of first-half goals for the Lady Maroons (11-7), who will next meet top-seeded Hopkins County Central (13-2) in Tuesday’s 5:30 p.m. district championship match at Butler Stadium.

She then scored again in the 38th minute, sending the Lady Maroons to halftime with a two-goal cushion.

Madisonville controlled the contest for much of the match, outshooting Caldwell 16-3.

Camree Young helped salt the match away for the Lady Maroons with a goal in the 75th minute.

Young and Coraline Knight each had one assist in the contest.

For Caldwell, Shylee Hinchee recorded nine saves.

Caldwell has now dropped eight straight matches to Madisonville. The Lady Maroons lead the all-time series 34-9-1.

The Lady Tigers were the last team not from Madisonville to win the district championship, claiming the top prize in 2017.

Caldwell ends a strong season with a 14-6 record.

The Lady Maroons lost to Hopkins Central 3-0 when the teams met during the regular season.
