
The Fort Campbell Lady Falcons and the University Heights Lady Blazers faced off in the 8th District Championship at the Stadium of Champions soccer fields on Wednesday night. And it was the latter that was able to come out of the gates hot and get the 8-1 win.
Kendall Hancock was the driving force in the win for the Lady Blazers, as she was able to score two goals and give UHA an early lead just two minutes into the game.
The Lady Blazers were able to score four more goals in the first half of play, and they took a 6-1 lead into the break. Two of them came from Skyler Cantrell, while Kate Adams and Audrey Perry each got a goal of their own.
With just under 13 minutes left to go in the first half, Alyssa Garcia scored Fort Campbell’s only goal of the game off of a rebound.
Maggie Mohon put one into the back of the net, and Hancock scored one more to extend the lead and secure the victory for the Lady Blazers.
Both teams will be looking ahead to the regional tournament, and the matchups will be announced in the coming days.
