The Fort Campbell Falcons were looking to right the ship on Friday evening against White Station after a loss in their last game. They were unfortunately not able to do that, as the Spartans were able to capitalize on the Falcons mistakes.
Turnovers were the thing that got Fort Campbell, as they had three interceptions over the course of the game, as well as losing a fumble and turning the ball over on downs. This was apparent in the first half, as all of White Station’s drives in the first two quarters started in Falcons’ territory.
A pair of early touchdowns put the Spartans up 13-0, and then Fort was able to get a score of their own. Quarterback Tanner Walters was able to connect with wide receiver JaCaryous Perryman on a 75-yard touchdown pass.
After that it was all White Station, as a number of Falcons turnovers gave the Spartans as many opportunities as they could possibly want. The latter was able to establish their run game and score six rushing touchdowns over the course of the game.
Fort Campbell’s second and final score of the game came from yet another deep pass from Walters that led Perryman into the end zone for his second touchdown.
But by this point the game was already out of reach, and the Spartans got the victory with a score of 49-13.
Walters had 161 yards and two touchdowns on the day, both of which were to Ferrymen, who also added 107 yards. As for the Falons’ run game, Keshawn Dixon had nine carries for 32 yards.
Fort Campbell will be looking to snap their losing streak in their next game on Friday, October 17, against Crittenden County at home. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Fryar Stadium.
