University Heights Academy used a strong start from Audrey Perry and the Lady Blazer offense to score an 11-0 win over Webster County in the Second Region quarterfinals Saturday at UHA’s Givens Field.
Perry scored her team’s first five goals in a 13-minute stretch as UHA showed why they are ranked as the region’s top team in the KHSAA RPI. The game was stopped at halftime due to the eight-goal mercy rule.
Alyssa Grise assisted on Perry’s first goal less than two minutes in, and Kendall Hancock provided the helpers on the next three, including a nice cross that Perry headed in.
Hancock got in on the scoring fun in the 16th minute with a goal out front. She would add three more in the half, giving her 54 for the season.
Skylar Cantrell took a feed from Hancock and scored in the 28th minute, and Kate Lynn Gibson added a goal in the 25th minute.

In addition to Perry’s five goals and Hancock’s four, Hancock added four assists, with Grise, Cantrell, and Perry adding one.
Kate Adams was in goal for the Lady Blazers in place of the injured Madison Williams and did not see a shot. Williams is expected to try and play in Monday’s semifinals after suffering a leg injury in the district championship.
UHA outshot Webster 26-0, and Lady Trojan freshman goalie Delyliah Cutteridge made 11 saves, several from point-blank range.
University Heights Academy (17-2-1) moves into the region semifinals for the fourth straight year and will play Monday night at 5:30.
Webster County, the 6th District runner-up, ends its season at 4-12.
