Three former Caldwell County Lady Tigers were in the starting lineup when Kentucky Wesleyan College hosted Frontier College for a fall softball doubleheader Sunday in Owensboro.
Alicia Stanley homered and drove in the go-ahead run with a double as Frontier took game one 6-4. Stanley started at catcher in the first game and third base in the second game for the Bobcats.
Harper Holeman started at second base for Frontier in both contests.
Meanwhile, A.J. Hollowell started in the outfield and batted leadoff for Kentucky Wesleyan. Hollowell caught Holeman’s deep fly ball at the fence in the first game and also tripled in the contest.
Hollowell, who spent two years at Frontier before moving on to Kentucky Wesleyan, went 2-for-3 in game two as the Panthers earned a split with a 5-1 victory.
Another Caldwell grad is also playing fall softball in college.
Brylee Butts is a freshman at the University of Memphis, which played at the University of Alabama on Saturday and at Jacksonville State on Sunday.
Butts started at third base and had a single in Saturday’s game against the Crimson Tide.
College softball begins regular-season play in early February.
