Including Sunday evening’s 4th Region quarterfinal matchup, the Todd County Central Lady Rebels have met the Bowling Green Lady Purples four times in program history. Three of those have come in the opening round of the 4th Region tournament, 2022, 2023, and this season. None of those have gone well for the Lady Rebels.

The Lady Purples came into the tournament with the third-highest RPI in the region and being viewed as one of the favorites to take the title. They did nothing to downplay those expectations against the Lady Rebels Sunday at South Warren High School.

Bowling Green scored four times in the first 16 minutes to bolt out to a 4-0 lead, putting the Lady Rebels in an early hole that they would not be able to dig their way out of.

The Lady Purples would add five more goals over the final 24 minutes of the half to pick up the 9-0 win, with the match ending at the half due to the 8-goal rule.

Junior Reagan Wheeler had a big evening for Bowling Green, scoring foul goals and assisting on two others. The four goals give Wheeler 15 for the season.

Sophia Casana and Zippi Willgruber added two goals each. Maddie Davenport scored the other goal for the Lady Purples and had two assists.

The Lady Rebels see their season come to an end with a record of 9-10-1.

Bowling Green improves to 13-6-0 and advances to Tuesday night’s semifinals.
