The University Heights Academy Blazers played their final home match of the volleyball season Tuesday night. The Lady Blazers hosted the Graves County Lady Eagles for a 2nd Region vs 1st Region contest.
Graves County headed into the night having never dropped a match to the Lady Blazers. The Lady Eagles were able to extend their streak over UHA to 8 consecutive matches, going back to August 2010, with a straight-set win in Blazer Gym.
The Lady Blazers put up a fight in the opening set before falling 25-21 as the Lady Eagles went up one set to none. Graves County claimed the second set a bit for comfortably, winning 25-15 and going up two sets to none.
The first set was much like the third with UHA putting up a battle, but ultimately it was the Lady Eagles closing out the match with a 25-22 win to complete the sweep.
The Lady Blazers drop to 11-18 for the season. They will wrap up regular season play with a trip to Madisonville Thursday night and then a three-way match Saturday in Owensboro with Apollo and Meade County.
