Lady Rebels Drop Road Match in Regular Season Finale

The volleyball regular season ended the same way it began for the Todd County Central Lady Rebels. After dropping a match to Muhlenberg County on the road back on August 19, the Lady Rebels went back on the road to take on the Lady Mustangs in the regular season finale Thursday night.

The Lady Mustangs took the final two sets Thursday night on their way to a three sets to one win over the Lady Rebels.

Muhlenberg County came out and took the opening set 25-16. The Lady Rebels fought back to claim the second set 25-22 to even things up at one set each.

The Lady Mustangs got their footing back and took the third set 25-18 and then closed out the match with a 25-20 win in the fourth set.

The Lady Rebels got their usual big effort from the ‘Todd Trio’ of Allyssa Wofford, Aubri Penick, and Shelby Holderman.

Todd Central also got strong defensive play from Chloe Collins and Naomi Gammon.

Todd County Central finishes the regular season at 15-10 and now gets ready for next week’s 13th District tournament and a semifinal match against Franklin-Simpson, Monday evening at Todd County Central High School.
