
Todd County Central is playing host to the 13th District Tournament that begins Monday in Elkton.
The Lady Rebels are the two-seed and will play the three-seed Franklin-Simpson at 6:30.
The first semifinal features top seed Logan County and fourth seed Russellville at 5:30.
Todd County Central (15-10) swept the season series from the Lady Cats (9-23) by identical 3-0 scores.
Junior Aubri Penick (334 kills) and Allyssa Wofford (293 kills) give the Lady Rebels some punch at the net, with Wofford adding 194 digs. Wofford has topped 220 kills each of the last three seasons.
Penick leads the team with 64 aces.
Shelby Holderman has 566 assists this season and 1,449 for her career.
Franklin-Simpson has won four of six matches entering the postseason and is paced by Caydence Johnson (155 kills) and Aubrey Sams (439 assists).
Logan County (20-11) has won an incredible 170 straight district matches dating back to 2004. The last school to hand the Lady Cougars a district loss was Franklin-Simpson in the season opener. Logan County has won every district tournament they have played in since 2003.
Steven Lyne’s Lady Cougars are led by Caroline Ham’s 201 kills and Kirsten Harris’ 157 kills. Kaylee Rye has 400 assists and 31 aces.
Logan County will meet Russellville (0-22) in Monday’s semifinal, looking to extend its 43-game winning streak over its crosstown rival.
The championship match will be on Tuesday at 6:00.
