
Henderson County finished in 5th place at the Class 3A Region 1 cross country meet on Saturday and will send a full team to the state meet in Lexington this weekend.
The Colonels finished seven points ahead of 6th-place Owensboro and 28 points behind 4th-place Marshall County in the team standings.
Ross Plummer led the Colonels with a 20th-place finish in 18:15 over the 3.1-mile course at Logan County High School.
Ian Hancock came in 26th place in 18:34, and Christian Smith was 28th in 18:38.
Cameron Anderson had a 39th-place finish in a time of 19:19, while Kaden Risley was 45th in 19:52 and Henry Davis was 46th in 19:58.
Isaiah Alvey crossed the finish line at 59th place in 21:37.
Marshall County’s Kobey Yates won the race in a time of 15:52, and Apollo won the team title with 31 points.
The Colonels will run in the Class 3a state meet Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington at 10 o’clock
