
In its final season of cross country, Hopkinsville High School will see a pair of runners compete at the Class 2A state meet next weekend.
Tyson Cavinder and Savior Davis finished in the top 11 at Saturday’s Class 2A Region 1 cross country meet at Logan County High School.
Cavinder finished in 7th place with a time of 17:45, while Davis was 11th in 18:24.
Union County’s Tristan Coy repeated as region champion in a time of 16:17.
Also running for the Tigers on Saturday were Levi Johnston, who was 44th in 20:47, Fernando Rojas, who was 50th in 21:54, and Jesus Tomas, who was 54th in 26:03.
As a team, Hopkinsville finished in 8th place with 166 points. Both Cavinder and Davis will compete in the Class 2A state meet on Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. Their race is scheduled to begin at 12:30.
