The Crittenden County Lady Rockets cross country team came in fourth place at Saturday’s Class 1A Region 1 meet and qualified a pair of runners for the state meet.
Ella Geary and Presley Potter will compete at state after Geary finished in 14th place with a time of 24:55, and Potter came in 17th place in 25:28 over the 3.1-mile course at Logan County High School.
7th grader Addie Nelson just missed out on a qualifying spot with a 19th-place finish in 26:24.
7th grader Braelyn Fulkerson came in 21st in 26:28, while Ella Whitney was 22nd in 26:34, and London McCord was 25th in a time of 27:40.
8th grader Hannah Whitney was 31st in 34:24.
The Lady Rockets were edged out of a team qualifying spot by third-place Murray by three points. Murray’s Jade Green won the race in a time of 20:31.
The Class 1A state meet will be run on Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington at 3:45 pm.
