Freshman Kaleb Dunkley will represent Madisonville-North Hopkins at Saturday’s Class 3A State Cross Country meet in Lexington after a 21st-place finish at region.
Dunkley covered the 3.1-mile region course at Logan County High School on Saturday in 18:17. His time was a personal best by 10 seconds, and he will make his first state meet appearance Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park in the Class 3A race at 10 o’clock.
Also running for the Maroons on Saturday was freshman Trevor Fox, who came in 38th place with a time of 19:18, which was also a personal best.
Marshall County’s Kobey Yates won the race in a time of 15:52, and Apollo won the team title.
