Kendrick Law had a 71-yard scoring catch Saturday in Kentucky’s 56-34 loss to Tennessee Saturday. He finished the game with two catches for 103 yards on two targets and had one run for 13 yards.
Law’s only miscue came on a trick play in the second half when he badly overthrew a wide-open Josh Kattus in the end zone.
Here is what Law, an Alabama transfer, said after Kentucky’s 10th straight loss:
On getting the offense going tonight…
“Yeah, I think that’s the main thing is putting it all together. I don’t think it’s a defense or offensive thing, but I mean we had turnovers on offense so if you don’t think that plays a part it does. I mean we just need to play as a team, the defense has held us in a lot of games, in this game too. I just feel like we need to go out there and keep practicing and keep playing every day.”
On how much quarterback Cutter Boley has impressed this season…
“When Cutter goes out there, he does what he does every day. It’s just fluid, so you gotta keep going for a lot more.”
On what was working on offense …
“I don’t want to say popped a big play. The plays are there; it’s just playmakers make plays. That’s all it is.”
On having a big game and showing what you’re capable of…
“It’s like we’ve unlocked something, or we’ve seen things on film that we know what we can do. We’re just starting. I hate to say it but at this point, since we are just starting to just get going, these weeks have been kind of progressing but now we’ve hit the nail on the head and we’re just gonna keep on going up.”

Like I've said all season we have to be able to keep our young playmakers if we want to be successful starting next year. Boley, Patterson, Quisenberry, Rodriguez, Cam and DJ Miller, Gilmore, Selm, Wood, Farmer(is a jr). We need him back next year, and Strey. If we can get this nucleus back next year we will have a great offense next year. Then you we need at least 5-6 offensive lineman in the portal again. We have great freshman and redshirt freshman this year who will be almost ready next year. We also need to bring in the best 2-3 play makers money can buy. I'm glad Boley is getting playing time this year. So we won't have any excuses next year. He's ready. He doesn't need 3-4 games to get ready. I would love to see Wilcox back on the team. I think if he would have played this year he would have led us in rushing yards. He had about 600 yards on only 90 carries last year. For almost 7 yards per carry with the worst offensive line I've ever seen. Imagine what he could do if he actually had a hole to run through? We need a fast back. That's what we are missing. Patterson is fast but hes not Wilcox fast. He also doesnt have the vision that Wilcox has.
I would go after Brian Kelly as the head football coach. Look what he did at Notre Dame and LSU. LSU has one bad season because they don't have a very good defense. They fire him. He's one of the brightest minds in football. Were he goes the recruits will follow. I would take Brian Kelly over any other coach in college football. Unless your going to go with someone younger like Jon Sumrall. The thing about it is I think With Boley Coach Kelly could do some wonderful things with this offense. Sumrall is more of a defensive mastermind. So it would be like a upgraded Stoops. Kelly would bring new schemes and a new offensive coordinator with him. If we would get Kelly and keep brad White I think we could make some noise next year for a playoff spot. People are going to say he couldn't win at LSU.. which is a lie. If you dont win 10 games at LSU your on the hot seat. They have done Kelly dirty and i thini he would love how the Kentucky fan base doesn't expect championships. We just want to win more than we lose. A 7-5 or 8-4 year isn't bad. It's the years you dont make a bowl game that kill you here. I can see Kelly coming to Kentucky and winning about 8-9 games next year. He would follow that year up with the playoffs in 2027. I think Kelly could have us in the playoffs in his second season. Maybe next year if we can keep most of our team. We have to keep most of the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes. If we can do that our football program would be spared. Other than Sumrall or Kelly I would take Saben or Gruden as well
