This week’s Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ for the week of October 20 is Christian County High School’s Ashlea Russell. Ashlea was selected based on her efforts in Christian County’s district championship win over Heritage Christian Academy last Thursday night.
Ashlea had a big night as the Lady Colonels won a tough four-set battle over HCA, taking the district championship in their final year of competition and advancing on to the 2nd Region tournament as a district champion.
She finished the match with 33 assists, 19 digs, 8 kills, and one service ace. A huge effort that played a big part in Christian County picking up the win.
The Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ is selected each week from one of the five schools in Christian County (Christian County, Hopkinsville, University Heights, Heritage Christian, and Fort Campbell) based on their performance in a big game or event for their team that week.
