Madisonville-North Hopkins freshman Kaleb Dunkley finished in 195th place at his first state cross country meet on Saturday in Lexington.
Dunkley covered the 3.1-mile course at the Kentucky Horse Park in 19:02, which was his fourth fastest time of the season.
Cooper’s Paul Van Laningam set a new state meet record in winning the race in 15:01.
Dunkley now sets his sights on the spring outdoor season and the 3200-meter run, where he won the Area 1 middle school championship last year and was 23rd at the middle school state meet.
