Tristan Coy closed out his cross country career for Union County with a 16th-place finish at the Kentucky Beef Council Class 2A State Meet in Lexington on Saturday.

The senior and Region 1 winner completed the rolling 3.1-mile course at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington in 17:03. It was the third straight top-20 finish at state for Coy, who was 18th last year and 15th as a sophomore.

Sophomore Thomas Davis appears poised to take over Coy’s reign as the No. 1 runner for Union County. He finished 18th on Saturday in 17:21.

Seventh grader Layden Carr came in 66th place in 18:26, and Kameron Davis was 83rd in 18:52.

Braden Todd recorded an 88th-place finish in 18:58, and Landon Davis was 208th in 21:20.

Henry Humphrey finished 223rd in 22:07.

Union County finished in seventh place with 245 points. The Braves won the school’s first region title since 1998. That year, Union County finished third at the state meet.
