After finishing his first state meet run in 20:48 as a seventh grader last year, Lucas Coats shone on the course for Christian County in 2025.
His final five races saw the Colonel eighth-grader break 20 minutes each time, including a personal-best time of 18:17 at the region meet.
Coats finished in 203rd place at the Class 3A state meet with a time of 19:07 and talked about his day on the Kentucky Horse Park course.
