With a team carrying the load of high expectations for the 2026 baseball season, University Heights Academy did not take very long or look very far to find its next baseball coach.

UHA Athletic Director Taylor Sparks introduced former assistant coach Michael Crow as the new head baseball coach for the Blazers during a gathering Friday afternoon. The announcement comes just three days after former head coach Scott Gentry announced that he was stepping down.

Crow takes over a Blazer baseball team that will be viewed by many as the 2nd Region favorite and a state tournament contender after finishing as runner-up for two consecutive seasons. UHA lost to Hopkinsville in the 2024 regional final and then lost to Lyon County in the 2025 regional championship game.

The Blazers return essentially their entire starting lineup from the 2025 season and will have plenty of pitching depth coming back as well. During his introduction to the team, Crow spoke about the expectations and the work the team will be putting in to try to attain their lofty goals.

After the announcement and introduction, Crow spoke with YourSportsEdge.Com about the opportunity.
