
Defense was the story of the night Tuesday as the Hopkins County Central Lady Storm hosted Logan County in preseason basketball action. The Lady Storm held the Lady Cougars to single-digit scoring in each of five varsity quarters in Mortons Gap.
Hopkins County Central won four of the quarters and tied one. The Lady Storm were especially impressive early on, outscoring Logan County 30-10 during the first two quarters of the night, winning the first 12-5 and the second 18-5.

Central won the third 9-7 and then tied the fourth 9-9. The Lady Storm then finished strong, taking the final quarter of the scrimmage 16-9.
Tyah White led the way for the Lady Storm with 17 points for the night. Calajia Mason added 14 points. Addie Menser also hit double digits with 11. Tijah Hobgood had 6 points.
Brenley Adler led Logan County with 11 points and Avery Thompson finished with 10.
Hopkins County Central officially opens the season December 6 when the Lady Storm host Warren Central.
