Former Kentucky Mr. Football Micah Johnson has added a third Grey Cup ring to his growing trophy case, furthering his resume as one of the best defensive players in the history of the Canadian Football League.

Johnson and his Saskatchewan Roughriders defeated Montreal 22-15 on Sunday in the Grey Cup – Canada’s Super Bowl. It was the fifth Grey Cup win for the Roughriders and first since 2013.

The Grey Cup is the third for Johnson, who won two as a member of the Calgary Stampeders in 2014 and 2018.

In 2025, the 37-year-old Johnson was named to the All-CFL for a fifth time and was the only defensive lineman named to the squad. He is one of only 12 non-kickers to make an All-CFL team aged 37 or older and is just the eighth defensive lineman to be an All-CFL selection five times.

Johnson was a two-way star at Fort Campbell High School, where he was selected the 2005 Mr. Football. He was an All-SEC player at Kentucky as a linebacker and rushed for a touchdown in the 2005 Music City Bowl.

Johnson played for five NFL teams from 2010-13 before finding a home in the CFL, where he was named to the league’s Second Team All-Decade Defense as a defensive tackle.
