Hoptown Swimmers Open Season at Henderson County

The Hopkinsville girls’ swim team opened the 2025-26 season with a top-five finish at the Henderson Thankswimming Invite on Saturday.

Hoptown scored 126 points to finish 49 points behind fourth-place Henderson County and 17 points ahead of sixth-place Madisonville.

Daviess County took the team title with 243 points.

Lily Johnston came in third place in the 50-yard fly in 29.79 seconds and fifth place in the 50-yard freestyle in 28.22 seconds, a new personal best time.

Saralynn Major finished eighth in the 50-yard freestyle in 29.71 seconds and 10th in the 50-yard breaststroke in 43.23 seconds.

Kaley Bangart came in sixth place in the 50-yard backstroke in 36.81 seconds and 12th place in the 50-yard freestyle in 31.91 seconds.

Kaydon Coats finished in 15th place in the 50-yard freestyle in 32.86 seconds and 18th in the 50-yard backstroke in 43.01 seconds.

Evelyn Bangart came in 16th place in the 50-yard backstroke in 42.55 seconds and 20th place in the 50-yard freestyle in 33.68 seconds.

Madelin Macario came in 26th in the 50-yard freestyle in 35.04 seconds and 30th in the 50-yard backstroke in 49.07 seconds.

Brooke Ebbinger was 25th in the 50-yard backstroke in 46.33 seconds and was 35th in the 50-yard freestyle in 37.72 seconds.

The 200-yard medley relay team came in fourth place in 2:22.22, while the 200-yard free relay team was also fourth in 2:04.48.

Meanwhile, the Hopkinsville boys scored an 11th-place finish.

The Tigers scored 55 points to finish three points behind 10th-place Fort Campbell.

Levi Johnston finished in ninth place in the 50-yard fly in 27.30 seconds and 17th place in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.52 seconds.

Simon Lockhart was 22nd in the 50-yard breaststroke in 41.26 seconds and was 39th in the 50-yard freestyle in 29.60 seconds.

Owen Lockhart came in 28th place in the 100-yard IM (1:23.76) and was 45th place in the 50-yard freestyle in 31.03 seconds.

Elijah Ebbinger finished in 53rd place in the 50-yard freestyle in 33.79 seconds.

Luke Johnston came in 29th place in the 50-yard breaststroke in 47.02 seconds and was 60th place in the 50-yard freestyle in 35.55 seconds.

The 200-yard medley relay team came in eighth place in 2:18.33, and the 200-yard free relay team was ninth in 2:02.82.
