A current Tiger has committed to play college baseball for a former Tiger.

Caldwell County High School senior Ethan Ramage announced on social media Tuesday morning that he has committed to Midway University.

“Thankful & Blessed to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Midway University,” Ramage posted. “None of this would’ve happened without my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. I would like to thank my parents, family, coaches, teammates & teachers for all their support, time & hard work to get me here today. Excited to be an Eagle!”

Luther Bramblett has been head coach of the Midway baseball program since its inception. He was hired as the first-ever head coach at Midway in July 2016 to start the program for the 2017 season.

Bramblett, who played at Caldwell in the late 1980s, gets a tall, lanky right-handed pitcher in Ramage.

Ramage was 2-1 with a save and a 4.74 earned run average last season while helping Caldwell fashion a 19-7 record. Ramage recorded 37 strikeouts in 31 innings.

Two years ago, Ramage went 2-0 with a 2.80 ERA as the Tigers went 27-7.

Ramage will be a key member of a Caldwell pitching staff that looks to be strong again in 2026.
