Groves’ 2nd Place Finish Leads Hopkinsville at Lady Panther Wrestling Classic

The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers had three wrestlers with top-four finishes Saturday at the inaugural Russellville Lady Panther Wrestling Classic at Russellville High School. The Lady Tigers totalled 60 points and finished tied for 9th place with Logan County.

John Hardin took first place with 145 points. Fort Campbell was in second place with 106, and Woodford County finished in third place with 105 points.

Hopkinsville had one second-place finish, one third-place finish, and one fourth-place finish for the day.

A’Niya Groves had the best finish of the day for the Lady Tigers, taking 2nd place in the 235 class. She was 1-1, falling to Khloe Alfred, of John Hardin, in the championship match.

Rheanna Walker was third in the 120 class. She was 4-1 during the day and won the third-place match, defeating Shelby Bowersox of Bullitt Central.

The Lady Tigers’ fourth-place finish came from Trinitee Lopez. Lopez was 3-2 in the 185 class, falling to Heather Alfred, of Logan County, in the 3rd place match.
