
A member of Caldwell County’s 1,000-points club now has 1,000 in college as well.
Jabrion Spikes topped that marked Saturday in Tennessee State’s 98-77 victory over Tennessee Wesleyan.
Spikes spent three years at Georgetown College, where he amassed 981 points.
Now at Tennessee State in Nashville, Spikes had seven points, three rebounds, two assists and five steals in Saturday’s win over Tennessee Wesleyan.
Spikes did not score in 10 minutes of action on Sunday as Tennessee State defeated Chattanooga 70-64.
He now has 1,005 career college points.
Spikes is seventh on Caldwell’s all-time scoring chart with 1,434 points.
TSU is now 5-3. The Tigers play again on Wednesday when they visit Alabama A&M in Huntsville.
