The members of the 2025 Hopkinsville Tiger baseball team had no way of knowing at the time that they would be the final team to take the field in the program’s history, but it turns out now to be the case.
Hopkinsville Principal Cindy Campbell announced in a news release late Thursday afternoon that Hopkinsville High School would not field a final team in the Spring of 2026 due to what was termed “lack of student interest and participation.”
In the release, it states that the administration made “diligent efforts” to build a team but that they were unable to build a roster for the upcoming season.
The news release goes on to add that school and district officials have met with parents and student athletes to discuss options for those who are interested in playing baseball.
