The Hopkinsville Tigers basketball team went into their matchup with Graves County at the Farmer’s Bank and Trust Tip-Off Classic looking to start a win streak to begin their final season. But they were unable to do that, as they fell to the Eagles 63-61 in overtime.

It was a tale of two halves for the Tigers, as the first half they were constantly fighting from a deficit. They found themselves down 25-17 after the first quarter, and then they got outscored in the second 10-8.

This led to them being down 35-25 at the halftime break, but the second half would be where they found their offense.

Hopkinsville’s defense came to play in the third quarter, as they held the Eagles to just six points in the period. And so did their offense, who was able to put 14, with 10 of those points coming from James Bradley and Curtis Dillard.

The Tigers went into the fourth quarter down by four points, and they were able to complete the comeback and send the game to overtime after a 16-point quarter.

But overtime would not be as kind to the Tigers, as Graves was able to ride a three-pointer and some free throws in extra time to the tight 63-61 win.

The leading scorer over the course of the game for the Tigers ended up being Bradley, who finished with 18 points. TaShaun Quarles and Jayon Bass also both finished with double-digit points with 12 and 10, respectively.

The Tigers will be looking to bounce back in their next game against the Mayfield Cardinals on Sunday, December 7. The game will be played as part of Grind Session at Daviess County, and is scheduled to tip off at 12:15 p.m.
