The first boys’ soccer coach for the Christian County Tigers will be one that soccer fans across the area are quite familiar with, and one that will now face the task of coaching against his former school in the same district.
Former University Heights standout William Bryan was introduced as the coach who will take the Tigers to the pitch for the first time in the fall of 2026 during a media conference Monday morning at the Christian County School Board meeting room.
Bryan graduated from UHA following the 2020 season as the school’s all-time leading goal scorer in boys’ soccer, totaling 108 goals and 47 assists over his career. According to the KHSAA record book, his 108 goals rank 14th in Kentucky state history.
During his record-setting senior season, he compiled a program record 40 goals and 13 assists, leading the state in scoring that year. He also set a UHA program record by scoring eight goals in a single game.

Bryan was a three-year captain for the Blazers and a four-time All-District and two-time All-State selection.
Bryan began his collegiate career as a forward at Maryville College, where he majored in Management. After his first season in 2021 was cut short by injury, Bryan returned in a big way for the 2022 season, scoring 10 goals and assisting on 5 others.
His performance earned him numerous honors, including the Collegiate Conference of the South Rookie of the Year, a selection to the All-CCS First Team, and the prestigious College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team.
Following his time at Maryville, Bryan transferred to Lipscomb University, a member of the A-Sun Conference, to continue his athletic and academic career and was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team in 2025. He played more than 2,000 Division I minutes and contributed 5 goals and 5 assists. Bryan was part of a nationally ranked Top 25 program, competed in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, and won a conference championship.
After his time at Lipscomb, Bryan spent some time playing for the Bowling Green FC Golden Lions in the United Premier Soccer League.
